Week 13's TOTW comes from two extremely talented electronic music artists I discovered last decade, Porter Robinson (American) and Madeon (French). Both artists took the electronic dance music world by storm in the 2010s, each releasing various hits throughout the decade. I discovered Porter when playing the demo of 2012 video game called 'Forza Horizon'. His track, titled 'Language', started playing on the game menu and I fell in love with it instantly. I have been a huge fan ever since! I discovered Madeon a year or so later when his track 'Icarus' appeared on BBC Radio 1. I only found out today when writing this blog post that Madeon's track also featured on the full game soundtrack for Forza Horizon, I had no idea! Again, I've been a fan since, and, you really should check out both of these tracks. I'll put videos of both songs below!

From what I gather when carrying out my research for this blog post, the two artists both grow up as teens posting their musical creations on the same electronic music forum. Apparently, they saw each other as rivals on the forum and were constantly trying to outdo each other with each new song they'd create. I think it's quite cool that they both have managed to sculpt out successful solo music careers and become friends as a result.

Anyway, on to the tune of the week. The pair collaborated in 2016 and produced the awesome, uplifting track titled 'Shelter'. The result is a fine combination of their unique styles and the track has a powerful, feel-good vibe. According to both artists, it is the only collaboration they'll ever work on together. The pair wanted it to be a one-off single, followed by a one-time international tour consisting of multiple dates. Whether both artists stay true to their word, only time will tell. I don't really need to say much about this tune. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. It never fails to put me in a good mood. If you did enjoy the track, definitely check out the rest of their music!
